The Rundown: Batman investigates two dead heroes while another member of the League is turned.
The League gathers on a beach to investigate the death of one of their own. As Hal and the others look for clues, they turn to Batman for answers. Answers he is unwilling to give at the scene as he continues his own investigation. Back in Gotham, Barbara runs into her first vampire while trying to rescue Ratcatcher and finds herself getting some help from Nightwing. At the same time, one of Batman’s rogues runs into another turned hero and Batman reveals the truth of one of the missing to another member of the League.
Diana learns the truth about the murder of a superhero from the killer himself, but it might not be enough to save her from being turned. Robin discovers that there is another team of heroes working on the Vampire infiltration as the rest of the League gathers to hear a shocking theory on who killed one of their own.
The Story: This continues to be an interesting and entertaining mystery. James Tynion IV and Matthew Rosenberg know how to build a mystery as well as tension as the reader is not sure who can be trusted. The plot continues to be intricate and engaging. The Wonder Woman moment was a little too unbelievable, but it works to a point in the story. I cannot wait to see where it goes next and who will be revealed next.
The Art: Schmidt delivers some great art. The style of the art is perfect for the fast paced nature of the vampire threat as well as the darkness of the plot.
