Deron GenerallyWarner Brothers is creating a new live action series for their upcoming DC Comics streaming service.
Gotham executive producers John Stephens and Danny Cannon are executive producing the series Metropolis for the streaming service. The series has already received a direct-to-series order and a 13 episode first season with production scheduled to begin at the end of this year.
Like Gotham, the series will not feature the Man of Steel. Instead, this series will feature Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane partnering with future super-villain Lex Luthor to investigate fringe science and expose Metropolis’ dark secrets.
So with a deep roster of characters to draw from and decades of stories to tell, DC Comics and Warner Brothers have decided to remake The X-Files starring Lois and Lex.
