The Rundown: The fate of the multiverse is put in the hands of Lobo.
With the universe in upheaval, Lobo is doing what he does the best…not caring. The Main Man is still collecting bounties and still raising hell. Unfortunately, he’s going to find that there is some competition in the universe in the form of a dark multiverse Batman infused with his DNA, The Batman who Frags.
Just as the two start to mix it up, Lobo gets pulled away by Lex Luthor who has a mission for the Czarnian. A mission that could repair the entire multiverse. A mission that will bring him into conflict with more Batmen, Hawkman and the temptation of a power that can transform universes with thought. Universes that are being shaped by Lobo himself.
The Story: As dark and serious as the stakes of the broader story are, the writers take the time to find a note of levity and humor in the story with this issue. It’s delightfully over the top in its plot, characters and action and that is welcome. What makes it more interesting is that it is an engaging and entertaining story as well. With all of his bravado and attitude, the writers remind us why Lobo is such a unique and interesting character.
The Art: All of the artists bring something interesting and unique to their interpretations of Lobo and his story. From the surreal to the absurd, every story has some beautifully done imagery perfectly matched to the character.
