The Rundown: A psychologist is brought in to assess a strange visitor from a stable black hole.
Dr. Joy Frank is a professor of psychology who gets a call from her soon to be ex-husband Colson, a scientist working on a secret project in Alaska. After reluctantly boarding a plane to meet him at the facility, she is brought in to meet a woman. A woman who came out of the artificial black hole her ex has been working on.
After being brought in to speak to the mysterious woman alone, she is told some unsettling information. Information that prompts her to tell Colson that the woman needs to go back into the black hole and they need to go with her.
The Story: A compelling, engaging first issue that beautifully draws in the reader with interesting characters and a brilliantly complex mystery. The plot has some great characters and an intriguing dynamic between them as it unfolds. I am fully invested in this story and its complicated characters. A wonderfully engaging and intriguing sci-fi mystery.
The Art: Shehan delivers beautifully detailed and visually engaging art throughout the issue. The imagery is beautifully emotional both in its sci-fi scenes and its character moments.
