The Rundown: Tony Stark is missing and the mission to discover where he is being held leads to tragedy.
Peter and some of the other heroes gather to spend time with their families in the small patches of civilization they’ve managed to carve out in the world. Unfortunately, Jessica Jones arrives to tell them that Tony Stark is missing. The investigation reveals that Tony was taken by Mystique in the disguise of Steve Rogers and they know who took him. Doom gathers some of the heroes to prepare for a rescue mission against Apocalypse and his forces. Black Panther decides to send a scout to check for Stark, but the scout discovers something that compromises his mission.
When he returns, a devastating attack will leave the assembled heroes reeling. After revealing what he saw and who else was working for Apocalypse, Sue and the rest of the heroes prepare to invade Europe with the hopes of rescuing their friends and stopping Apocalypse. Unfortunately, Apocalypse is waiting for them and preparing for their arrival.
The Story: Taylor delivers an exciting, dark and tragic story in this issue. Showing the bonds these characters have with each other is the perfect narrative device to engage the reader when the worst happens to them. The world building in this series continue to impress me and the story has so many interesting and entertaining layers to it that keep me invested and intrigued throughout.
The Art: Coello delivers some beautiful art throughout this issue. There are so many beautifully detailed character moments and intense action to be found on every page.
