The Rundown: Elektra battles Kraven, but her true enemy has something darker planned.
Lamenting her place in a fight that is not her own, Elektra takes on Kraven in full view of both the public and a friend from her time in college. At the same time, Thunderbolt agents keep the crowd back to let the fight play out as both look for a way to take down their opponent. When she gets a momentary distraction, Elektra decides to use that advantage to send Kraven the Hunter on a real chase. One that she sets the rules for.
In the aftermath, the true architect of her encounter with Kraven reveals herself. After learning a lesson from her former mentor, Elektra tries to rescue her friend who reveals something devastating. Something that will send the former assassin on a final mission to kill the man who took something precious from her.
The Story: Zdarsky creates a great, action filled thriller in this issue. Elektra is a dynamic character and that comes through in this story. Her agency and ability to adapt to the situation makes her character moments engaging. I also love both the behind the scenes machinations and how they affect her. The story builds to some great moments and the ending makes me excited for the final issue as well as what comes next.
The Art: De Latorre delivers some thrilling visuals on every page of this issue. The art is beautifully detailed and visually evocative.
