The Rundown: An aging Matt Murdock takes to the streets when an attack reactivates his powers.

Years into the future, the country is at war and Matthew Murdock is inactive due to the loss of his powers. Trying to live day by day and help whoever he can, he finds himself running a soup kitchen. When a bomb goes off in a nearby subway tunnel, the resulting radiation restarts Matt’s powers and he rushes in to try to help people. As he does, he runs into a familiar face who gives him some important information and a young woman who could be the key to everything.
In the aftermath, Matt rushes after the men responsible for the bombing, but he’s not the hero he used to be and they escape. As Matt Murdock returns home to find his old uniform and equipment, someone he used to know prepares for the next part of his plan and its connection to both Captain America and Daredevil.
The Story: Soule crafts a dark, compelling and entertaining story in this first issue. I am impressed by the premise as well as the character motivations and dialogue. The story has a great tone that fits the character perfectly and I was impressed with the surprises throughout as well as the mystery being teased within the issue. I will definitely be back to see what happens next.
The Art: McNiven captures the dark, gritty streets of the city beautifully with the art in this issue. You can feel the emotional devastation in the characters through their imagery and I loved how dramatic the action art was.
