Matt Murdock is trying to concentrate on finding Muse. After murdering six police officers, Muse is in hiding and Fisk has managed to blame The Punisher for the murders fueling more anti-vigilante sentiment. Daredevil continues to be distracted by it as he tries to go back into the void to find Muse. The task becomes more and more difficult because Matt’s mind continues to focus on Fisk and how the city is dividing because of his actions.
After Blindspot and Daredevil argue over the best way to find Muse, Matt tries to discourage the young hero from going after the killer alone. Blindspot remembers that he was once held by Muse, but does not promise Matt that he won’t keep looking, but he has no intention of killing Muse if he’s found. Matt is left wondering if he’s really doing everything he can to find Muse. Daredevil decides to try another tactic. Not as Daredevil, but as Deputy Mayor Matt Murdock.
He confronts Fisk in his office about the warning that he gave the mayor. The two verbally spar about what happened and Fisk gives him an ultimatum. Meanwhile, Blindspot has a meeting with Hannah and gives her advice that scares her into thinking she might not see him again. Fisk decides to do something about the murals around the city and as he contacts Wesley to make the arrangements, Blindspot begins to deface one, challenging Muse who is all too eager to oblige. At the same time, Daredevil continues to listen to the opinions of New Yorkers about Fisk as he makes his way to a new location where he’s greeted by some old friends to unveil a new plan.
This story continues to get exciting with each issue. I enjoy that there are multiple cliffhangers in this issue and that all of the stories in it are written with both complexity and emotion. I like that Daredevil’s obsession with Fisk is being challenged by someone like Blindspot and hopefully, it will continue to be by the group he has assembled to help him. I love the look of this book as well as it continues to be gritty and dark with great details and art. I can’t wait to see how the characters teased at the end of this issue bring down Fisk, if they can.
