The Rundown: Matt confronts an old friend who might have a bigger role in his life than he could imagine.
In the aftermath of a deadly train explosion, Daredevil confronts Goldy at the station where the man reveals that he has been setting events in motion for his old friend since they were in college. When another train explodes, Matt is trapped in the rubble after rescuing a woman and Goldy reveals that he has been helping him become a better hero.
As Matt thinks back on events of his life, he finds a connection to Goldy as he escapes and chases the man through the city. When Goldy escapes, Matt is left to wonder what part of anything the man said was actually true as he prepares for the next part of his journey.
The Story: Zdarsky crafts a dark and intriguing story for Matt that takes the reader back to some of the more interesting and influential moments in the characters life. The story has some great drama within it as Matt is presented with information that makes him question everything while also having to confront his own choices and beliefs. I love the way the story unfolds including all of the twists and turns that make me excited to see what happens next for the character and his next encounter with Goldy.
The Art: Marco Checchetto delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. There are some thrilling visuals to be found and the style is filled with great action and atmosphere.
