The Rundown: The Avengers take on the Fist and Matt Murdock fights a friend.
After infecting Matt’s followers with a gas that increases their aggression, the Stromwyns engineer an intervention from the Avengers. Elektra takes on heroes as Matt goes to secure the book of the Fist. Unfortunately, he’s being followed by one of his only remaining friends Spider-Man.
As Elektra takes on both Black Panther and Captain America, Daredevil battles Spider-Man before going after the book. As the forces of the Fist find themselves being taken into custody, Matt Murdock faces Goldie again and makes a decision about both his future and that of his mission.
The Story: Zdarksy brings this story to an adventurous, action-filled and emotional climax in this issue. All of the action is thrilling. The emotional stakes are high and the story takes some great turns throughout both in Matt’s fight with Spider-Man and his moments of doubt. The dynamic with Elektra continues to be engaging and I love how this story strips everything from Matt Murdock in a bombastic way while also giving the character something more interesting. I also love the internal dialogue from Matt throughout the issue and how it engages the reader.
The Art: Checchetto delivers some stunning art throughout the issue. The visuals are big, bold and exciting and you feel a part of every emotional and action-packed moment.
