Deron GenerallyThe Doom Patrol series on DC Universe just got another member its growing cast. According to articles in both Variety and Deadline, Warner Brothers has cast Joivan Wade (The First Purge) as Vic Stone aka Cyborg in the live action Doom Patrol series for the DC Universe streaming service.
Wade will join fellow cast members Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero) and led by mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder. Cyborg will be on the series as the person who brings this team together to have them use their unique talents to tackle threats on the fringes of the DC universe.
The official description of Wade’s role as Vic Stone reads;
Vic Stone is the charming and sarcastic half-human, half-machine superhero known as Cyborg. Vic may be connected to every computer on the world, but he struggles to maintain the connections that make him human. Desperate to gain acceptance from the outside world, Vic harnesses the curse of his cybernetic body and uses his powers as the ultimate hero for the digital age.
Doom Patrol has been given a 13 episode first season from DC Universe and the series will be written by Jeremy Carver (Supernatural) and produced by Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns and Sarah Schechter with a 2019 premiere date on DC Universe.
