The Rundown: Crush meets someone close to Lobo as she continues her search for his whereabouts.
Crush follows Lobo’s trail to a remote planet where she comes into contact with someone unexpected. After a tense confrontation Crush obtains both valuable information and new friends. Later, she and her companions meet Julia. After a heart to heart conversation with Julia, Crush forms a plan. Finally, Crush discovers the whereabouts of a family member and rushes to meet them.
The Story: Tamaki has once again created a humorous and adventure filled narrative that is also filled with character development. I really appreciate how Crush is learning how her actions in her private life mirrors that of her father’s and I hope to see her grow from this experience. I also enjoy seeing her softer side. Her interactions with the space lizards were extremely enjoyable. I’m curious to find out what is next for her, especially when Crush finally catches up with her father.
The Art: This is a fun issue filled with bold colors and detailed drawings. There are some interesting panels involving aliens and family portraits. And the actions scenes are well done. Overall, this is a good looking and engaging edition.
