The Rundown: Crush visits her father in prison. Lobo enacts his masterplan.

Lobo attends a group therapy session with his fellow inmates. Meanwhile, Crush meets someone interesting while waiting for visiting hours to begin. She then reminisces about an ex-girlfriend. Later, Crush and Lobo have a deep conversation. Afterwards, Crush has an unusual encounter and finds herself in an unexpected situation.

The Story: Tamaki adds a revealing chapter in this series. Toxic parental relationships are explored. Here, Crush and Lobo’s connection is juxtaposed with another inmate and child. And the opposing situations show how family history and genetic tendencies affect families. I’m very interested in the interactions of Crush and Lobo. The cliff hanger ending sets up a promising new plot-line. And I look forward to the next episode.

The Art: In this issue, Nahuelpan uses traditional drawings that are heavy on character form and expression. The heavy use of blues and greens make the environment feel very alien. And it makes the orange inmate uniforms stand out in a dramatic manner relevant to the tale. I found the illustrations to be very engaging and fun to view.
