The Rundown: The party searches for an ally and confronts a dangerous enemy.
Vox Machina finds themselves fighting to survive as Allura’s tower begins to crumble and fall around them. As Keyleth shifts her form to help some of her friends, Vex finds a flying carpet to help rescue the others as the home of their only ally on the council disappears.
As they regroup to determine their next move, they decide to take the fight to General Krieg. After breaking into his home, they discover a secret portal to a room full of treasure and as they load up on what they can take, Krieg returns and reveals and dangerous and potentially deadly secret.
The Story: As a fan of this campaign and the characters, I continue to love how Houser is expanding and evolving the story and its characters beyond the familiar. The story is filled with fun and engaging moments with great thrills throughout. I love the buildup of tension throughout the story and how it comes to an entertaining cliffhanger that makes me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Hayes delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. Not only do I love the character designs, but I love the immersive backgrounds and environments of the world being created.
