The Rundown: Vox Machina goes on mission to discover what is wrong with Sovereign Uriel and runs into a dangerous threat.
After escaping the Clasp and meeting with Allura, Vox Machina finds themselves in her tower and learning that there is something wrong with Emon’s sovereign and his family. Something that will cause Allura to ask Keyleth for help in scrying on the family. A scry that will reveal that there is something controlling the family.
Trying to find information on what could be happening to Uriel, Vox Machina return to the Clasp headquarters and find themselves confronted by Modeth. A confrontation that will lead to a strange confrontation with Scanlan and another ally going missing.
The Story: Mercer and Houser continue to create great stories for those new to the characters of Vox Machina as well as those who enjoyed the original live stream. There is great action throughout the story as well as wonderful look at the world of these characters. The dialogue is fantastic and I continue to love the interactions between them. It’s fun, funny and completely entertaining from start to finish.
The Art: Hayes delivers beautifully detailed and visually thrilling art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of this series and how it balances the darker elements, the action and the broad comedic moments. There is always something to find within the panels.
