The Rundown: Vox Machina hunts a dangerous creature in order to find a way out of the bowels of the city.
After finding a mysterious old woman who lives beneath the city of Emon, Vox Macxhina finds themselves searching for a dangerous creature. A creature whose death will get them information on how to leave.
After finishing their task, the team reunites on the surface and find themselves involved in a growing conspiracy that includes a missing member of the council and a fateful meeting with another who could become a powerful ally.
The Story: Houser and Mercer craft a fun and entertaining tale in this issue. There are wonderful moments of action and humor throughout the story and you start to see moment where these characters come together as a team. I like the mystery within the story and how Houser is able to build on moments and suspense to the surprise reveal at the end of the issue. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
The Art: Hayes delivers some beautifully detailed and visually engaging art throughout the issue. The visuals are fun and brilliantly capture the energy of the action. A wonderful looking issue from start to finish.
