The Rundown: A collector of rare items finds himself in a strange little town with an unusual population.
Saunders is a memorabilia collector obsessed with classic horror items and maintains his fortune with some morally ambiguous practices. After fleecing more customers, he gets a call from an international colleague that has an item that Saunders cannot resist.
After hopping a plane to England, Saunders finds himself in the middle of a worker’s strike. A strike that will force him on a train to Wolverton Station where he discovers something strange and dangerous about its passengers.
The Story: Hill crafts some great horror stories filled with atmosphere and world building that draws in the reader. This isn’t one of them. I really like the premise of this story and the world that it is building, but the story never gives itself the time to develop either the terror or suspense that it is trying to convey. It’s too short and has very little to build on other than the premise of werewolves.
The Art: Walsh delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and Walsh always showcases beautifully horrific imagery.
