The Rundown: Three stories go to the dark recesses of love and obsession.
Heart to Heart
Lucas loves love and is obsessed with finding the perfect couple with a pure heart. An obsession that leads to murder. When he finds a new couple in town that seems to be perfect, he begins to stalk them in order to spring his trap. Unfortunately, he will learn too late that this couple has a secret he never thought of.

Andolfo creates a wonderfully dark and entertaining story in this issue. I love the buildup of suspense throughout it and the twist payoff at the end. The art is beautifully detailed and indicative of everything I love about Andolfo’s style.
Cursed Casanova
Eugene is unlucky in love and turns to a man who might have the solution. A solution that consists of a love potion to be applied carefully to himself. Unfortunately, an accident causes him to spill it and it attracts a woman from parking enforcement who after getting a whiff decides that she wants Eugene all to herself and not even death will keep them apart.
Horvath delivers another fantastic horror story in this short. I love the comedic elements throughout the story and Horvath’s art is brilliantly detailed and captures both the horror and humor of the story.
Penguin Avenger
A young lady goes on her first date with a young man named Irwin and when he reveals his feelings for her, she doesn’t see the syringe that knocks her out. When she finally awakens, she discovers that her brain has been transplanted into the body of a penguin and she is not alone as other animals in Irwin’s basement turn out to be other dates he wanted to keep with him.
This is an interesting short story, but it is incredibly predictable once the reveal is made. Also, it’s so short that you never get a chance to either know or care about any of these characters to the point where none of them except the villain are even given names. It was okay, but not particularly memorable.
