The Rundown: Jerri faces her toughest test yet both with the supernatural and her own demons.
After a tense meeting in her brother’s office with the vampire Hubert, Jerri needs some help from Barnes who only gives her more bad news. As she waits for their inevitable confrontation, she tries to help Steven the werewolf by trying to get him into an AA meeting with her. After preparing as best she can, Jerri has a meeting that begins to change her perspective on some things.
A meeting that just might save her life when she goes looking for Steven and is confronted by Hubert who tries to kill her. When Jerri discovers that she isn’t powerless against the vampire threat and that she has some unconventional friends of her own, she ends the current threat. Unfortunately, there are bigger ones coming her way and one that is close to home.
The Story: Dastmalchian delivers an exciting, entertaining and fun finale to this tension filled arc. The character has a wonderful evolution throughout this story and you really get a sense of the person that she could potentially become. I also really love the bigger threat teased in the finale and what it means for Jerri’s journey. Fun, funny, brash and engaging, I cannot wait to see where this story goes next.
The Art: Ketner delivers some beautiful art on every page of this issue. The world of this story is visually engaging and both the characters and action are wonderfully styled and compelling.
