Arrowverse co-creator and executive producer Greg Berlanti is looking to enlist another superhero for a new project.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Berlanti and Warner Brothers are in negotiations with Captain America and Knives Out star Chris Evans to take a role in the upcoming big screen adaptation of the Broadway musical Little Shop of Horrors. Marc Platt, Sarah Schechter and Berlanti are producing the new adaptation which will shoot this summer.
Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Taron Egerton (Rocketman) are in talks to take on the lead roles of Audrey and Seymour respectively. Billie Porter (Pose) has already signed on as the voice of the killer plant Audrey II. Evans is in talks to take on the role of Audrey’s abusive and sadistic boyfriend Orin Scrivello, who has a talent for causing things pain as he belts out one of the show’s best numbers “Dentist”.
The film will reunite Evans and Johansson, who last starred in Avengers: Endgame. Evans next role will be in the Apple+ limited series Defending Jacob.
