Amazon Films has released a new trailer for the remake of the classic thriller Suspiria and it definitely hits the marks in creepy atmosphere.
As a fan of the original, I like that the new trailer seems to be taking a subtle approach to the visuals, but I fear that the production might play it safe with the horror when the film is finally released. The 1977 original by director Dario Argento featured some of the most disturbing visuals in any horror movie and it’s going to take a lot to either match or elevate them in the remake.
A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.
Suspiria, from director Luca Guadagnino and starring Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Lutz Ebersdorf and Chloe Grace Moretz, is in New York and Los Angeles theaters October 26, expanding nationwide November 2.
