The Rundown: Catwoman and her friends enact a plan to save Poison Ivy from their enemies.
In the opener, a group of “masks” notice something unusual about the Magistrate forces. They then have an altercation with Penguin and his henchmen. Elsewhere, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and the Gardener face off against a deadly enemy. Later, the trio confront a traitor while reuniting with an old friend. Finally, they meet someone interesting.
The Story: The plot to rescue Poison Ivy commences! Ram V once again delivers an entertaining and well-crafted chapter in this series. In it, Selina Kyle’s leadership and decision-making skills are highlighted. She weaves an intricate plot that confuses her enemies and allows for a touching moment between friends and lovers. Selina is best when she is able to use her cunning while relying on her friends. And I like that this plotline relies on that dynamic. I’m excited to find out what happens next.
The Art: This good-looking issue features a classic comic book styling reminiscent of newsprint. The action scenes are interesting and the attention to detail is emotionally engaging. Also, there are some especially eye-catching panels in this edition that I found breath taking.
