The Rundown: Selena Kyle’s known associates are questioned as several entities try to determine her whereabouts.
Selena Kyle has gone off the radar, and several groups want to find out who she really is. Father Valley captures and questions one of her close allies, who tells the story of how they met. Then, they give some insight into her motivations. Meanwhile, a surly detective roughs up some of the Strays in Alleytown. He is then told of Selena’s youthful notoriety and involvement with Mama Fortuna. Elsewhere, Maggie Kyle relates her own opinions of Selena to the GCPD. In the end, Leo is left in a compromising situation and awaits Selena’s return.
The Story: Ram V creates a fascinating case study into the character of Selena Kyle. She is a smart, resourceful survivor that, despite her moral ambiguity, everyone respects. I’m curious what Father Valley makes of the accomplished thief. And what his ultimate plans are for her. I can’t wait for the next chapter in this tale.
The Art: Evan Cagle uses a traditional style that is heavy on character expression and form. These detailed drawings are enhanced by Bellaire’s use of color palates that change with the tone and setting of the story. This is a well crafted issue that is both engaging and visually pleasing.
