The Rundown: It’s day two and more heroes get ready to join the fight, but will it be enough.
Noble is dead and the aliens have given the Earth seven days before it is obliterated. Even with all the evidence in front of their eyes, many refuse to believe it. While a young woman named Camila chronicles the events for the world, Lorena works to stop Noble’s wife from throwing her life away attempting to fight the alien herself.
At the same time, a group of young heroes attempts to stop one of the creatures attacking New Orleans and another across the ocean deals with the potential loss of his family as he joins the fight.
With the second day drawing to a close and Lorena and others working on a doomsday scenario for the planet, the alien force behind the attack takes an interest in the young lady covering the events for its own purposes.
The Story: Gail Simone builds on the tension of the first issue with a story that reflects how social media affects the news of the day as well as people in power working for their own best interests. The characters are fantastically well written and diverse in their personalities and priorities. There is a complex and engaging narrative being written both in this issue and in the series itself. The story is unpredictable and everything that is unknown in it adds to the drama.
The Art: Jose Luis delivers some awesome art in this issue. The characters look amazing and the action is filled with energy and glorious detail. An amazing looking issue.
