The Rundown: Sara May continues to take her lessons in school while more secrets within it are revealed.
Sara May continues to take her lessons at the Linton School for Girls. After her lessons are complete and she enjoys the campus, her teacher has a dark meeting with a dangerous entity in the bowels of the school. A meeting that will focus on preparing Sara May for something dark to come.
The next day, she learns more about her roommate as she deals with the fact that she is alone in the world. When she is called to a special lesson, she takes a dangerous trip that will reveal some dark visions about Hellboy as well as the people around her. A dark vision that will prompt the dark entity to take a more active role in preparing her.
The Story: A dark, compelling and engaging thriller that is filled with tension on every page. Migola and Slatter do a wonderful job of drawing the reader into the world of these characters and laying out the dangers all around Sara May. I love the complexity of the story as well as how easy it is to relate to and connect with Sara May as a character. I am intrigued to see where this goes next.
The Art: Burzo delivers some beautiful and brilliantly dark imagery throughout the issue. I found myself going over pages and panels again to pick out wonderful details that enhance the emotion of the story.
