Well, according to Deadline, a source at Marvel says that writer Megan McDonnell is in advanced negotiations to take on writing duties for the upcoming sequel. McDonnell is the director of the short film Meet Cute and is part of the writing team for the upcoming Marvel series WandaVision for Disney Plus.
Captain Marvel star Brie Larson is expected to return for the sequel, but no other cast announcements have been made.
The first Captain Marvel, co-written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, brought in $1.13 billion dollars at the global box office.
