The Rundown: Carol takes on Ove to save the future.
Powered and angry, Carol takes on Ove in a last ditch attempt to stop his plan to take over the past. As she battles him throughout the skies of his city, the rest of her team arrives and takes on Enchantress to free Magick. As the battle starts to go their way, Carol realizes just how strong and determined both her opponents are as well as the fact that Magick has been hiding something. Something that will change everything about the battle.
As the battle reaches its apex, sacrifices are made that will mean dark times ahead for Captain Marvel. Things get even darker as a deal is struck to send her back home and she has to reconcile what she knows about the future with Rhodey.
The Story: Thompson brings this arc to a great conclusion and leaves open the door for more stories to tell. There are some great emotional moments throughout this issue and Carol reconciling her feelings for Rhodes as well as the repercussions of her actions is great drama that I can’t wait to see explored. The story has some awesome action moments throughout and the pace was perfect.
The Art: Garbett delivers some fantastic visuals in this issue. The action and progression of the pages perfectly match the mood and tone of the story.
