The Rundown: Carol’s allies lead a daring escape to rescue her and stop Ove.
Carol and the rest of her allies have been captured by Ove and his mother Enchantress. Ove needs Carol’s life force in order to bring his ultimate plan to fruition and as he goes to prepare, Carol attempts to appeal to Amora. After learning the real story behind the death of Namor, Amora prepares to help her son fulfill his goal. At the same time, Brigid manages to escape with the help of Rhodes and they go to free Emma Frost to help them.
With their numbers down to two, Brigid and Emma know that in order to give Carol a chance, they will have to take out Enchantress to end Ove’s spell. As the battle rages, Emma will make a desperate sacrifice to save her allies and Brigid will call on her legacy as the daughter of Thor to give them an added edge.
The Story: Kelly Thompson delivers a powerful, intense and entertaining story in this issue. The plot is great. The characters and their dialogue are engaging and the action is amazing. The strength and determination in these characters connects to the reader and the backstory with Enchantress was well done in both its pace and motivation. Everything leads up to a fantastic climax that makes me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Garbett and Ortega deliver some beautiful art throughout the issue. The flashback scenes are beautiful in their scope and emotion while the present day scenes are filled with energy in the action.
