The Rundown: Steve Rogers leads a new team on a mission to invade New York City and stop AIM.
Manhattan has been taken over and cut off by AIM and while Mayor Cage and the Thunderbolts sit on the sidelines, Steve Rogers and his new team of Invaders make their explosive entrance into the city to stop AIM on multiple fronts while Steve and Peggy look for the device they shut down the city to steal.
While the rest of the teams free the citizens and take down the power structure AIM has created in the city, Steve and Peggy discuss what has happened to Bucky with Steve not knowing that his old friend is listening in. What none of them know is that there is someone else observing events as well. Someone who will step in right at the brink of victory and reveal his puppet master strings.
The Story: Intense, thrilling and entertaining from start to finish. Kelly and Lanzing continue to craft an awesome story for Steve on multiple levels. The Outer Circle continues to be a great threat and I love the moments between Steve and Peggy and what their conversation means to Steve’s mission going forward. I love the twists within the story as well as how engaging and interesting the supporting characters are in the story. The finale of the issue makes me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Carnero blows me away with the beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The visuals are amazing and enhance the thrilling elements of the story.
