The Rundown: Steve and his team are trapped in their own minds battling a new and deadly MODOC.
Captain America and his new team of Invaders have been captured by a new MODOC designed specifically for control. It decides to take each of them to specific moments in their lives in order to cause them the most pain. Unfortunately, Peggy is a variable it didn’t plan for and she reminds it that there is another among them it grossly underestimated.
At the same time, The Power continues his plans with Bucky looking on. When MODOC finds itself facing an adversary it cannot control, the others are freed but at a huge cost.
The Story: An intense and entertaining tale from Lanzing and Kelly. The new version of MODOC is sufficiently formidable and I really enjoyed how the battle with the Invaders gives the reader more insight into the characters. The upcoming reckoning between Steve and Bucky is heating up in this issue and I remain curious about what The Power is trying to unleash. There is some great mystery in this arc and I look forward to seeing where it goes next.
The Art: Carnero delivers some fantastic art throughout the issue. The action is visually thrilling and the art style wonderfully complements the tone of the story.
