The Rundown: Cap and Tony race to stop both a murder and a genocidal AI.

Captain America has put on a suit that he promised himself he would never touch again and uses it to fight a growing army of robots with Veronica Eden by his side. At the same time, Tony races to rescue Fifty-One from his former teammates after discovering that the Paladins were using him as a villain to stay in the spotlight. After a dramatic rescue, Fifty-One reveals that there is a way to stop the helicarrier and the AI at the controls.

After Iron Man arrives, Cap and Tony send Fifty-One in to take down the AI as Veronica watches the fruits of her labors rot as the Paladins try to stop the heroes from taking them down. In the aftermath, Steve and Tony face the results of their presence and what they might have unleashed and Veronica escapes only to find herself facing someone truly terrifying.

The Story: Landy brings this story to a satisfying conclusion with some great action, thrills and character development. Telling the story from Veronica’s perspective is an interesting and entertaining narrative choice and even her changes towards the end are well done. The Paladin element of the story needed some more fleshing out regarding their motivations, but it was an intriguing storyline that was enjoyable.

The Art: Unzueta delivers some great art in this issue. There are some awesome action beats throughout the story and a fun tone to the art that was visually engaging.
