The Rundown: Tony Stark and Steve Rogers team up to take down a former HYDRA leader with a plan to end superheroes.
A one night stand will introduce Tony Stark to a woman who wants funding for a new project. When he reacts in typical Tony Stark fashion, she is upset. Things change when he offers her an opportunity with SHIELD. An opportunity that finds her in front of a judge years later about to be tried to being an agent of HYDRA. Veronica Eden finds herself being transported away from the courthouse only to find herself being attacked by someone familiar to Iron Man who rushes to the scene.
In the midst of her prison break, Tony gets some backup from Captain America when HYDRA agents attack. Veronica takes the opportunity to escape and the pair find themselves teaming up to discover if she has a connection to a politician who is trying to bring back SHIELD. After tracking down Veronica’s safe house, Cap and Iron Man discover they aren’t the only ones interested in Veronica or her new ally. What none of them know is that Veronica has a plan of her own. One that will spell trouble for everyone.
The Story: Landy crafts and entertaining story in this issue. There are some great moments of dialogue throughout and I really enjoyed having the narration be done by Veronica herself. It adds a new layer to the story and a new perspective that makes it more interesting. The plot itself is fun and interesting and I like the light tone and humor found throughout. The story hooked me with the premise and I look forward to seeing what happens next.
The Art: Unzueta delivers some beautiful visuals throughout the issue. The characters look amazing and the action is thrilling from start to finish.
