The Rundown: As Sharon gets used to her new lease on life, an old threat moves out of the shadows.
Aleksander continues to have nightmares about the Red Skull. The villain invades his mind and confronts him with victims as his power inside the man continues to grow. Aleksander is afraid of what this could mean for himself and the Power Elite, but his wife Alexa sees it as a gift. One that they need to start exploiting if they are going to bring down Captain America.
At the Carter estate, Sharon finds herself dealing with not only the return of her soul, but the return of her youth as well. As both Steve and Sharon deal with their new dynamic, a mission in Madripoor with the resurrected General Ross runs into trouble. Trouble that will have to have the couple suit up and race to the rescue.
The Story: Coates slows down the story in this issue and gives Steve and Sharon time to deal with Sharon’s change while also confronting some lingering issues in their relationship. Those moments are handled well and I enjoyed the quieter pace of the story. I’m still not that impressed with the Power Elite as antagonists and frankly, I’m just waiting for Red Skull to finally show up.
The Art: Dniel Acuna does a great job with the art. With the story being more character focused, the tone of the art is perfectly balanced to highlight the interpersonal stories.
