The Rundown: A vigilante is killing cops in New York and Kingpin is worried he might be next.
Wilson Fisk has been working with the Power Elite since his bid for Mayor. Part of that includes adding new cops to the ranks post Secret Empire. Power Elite supplied the new cops and somebody is killing them.
Captain America and the Daughters of Liberty are investigating the murders as well. Steve and Misty find a cache of weapons that the killer Scourge could be using. They also find an angry US Agent waiting to take down Steve for what he believes were his actions during Secret Empire.
The Story: The latest issue of Captain America has some great moments in it. I really like and connect with the investigation aspects of the story. With everyone else dealing with the big stories, I like that this investigation brings Steve to street level both with the nature of the victims, but also the people he needs to investigate. The Power Elite continues to be an interesting threat and I like the fact that Coates is bringing Fisk and US Agent into the mix. Having Steve continue to deal with the aftermath of Secret Empire is starting to grate a little based on my feelings towards that storyline, but I can understand the reason why. This is a great story and I can’t wait to see where it goes next.
The Art: I really enjoy Bob Quinn’s art in this issue. I love the way the characters are drawn and the action looks great. Quinn does some great work with facial expressions in this issue and US Agent’s rage and anger come through in his fight with Steve Rogers.
