FPS fans are going to have something to talk about coming soon.
Activision announced on Thursday that the latest game in the Call of Duty franchise would be an addition to the Black Ops series of games. The title of the new game, Black Ops 4, doesn’t reveal anything about the plot for the single-player campaign or where the story takes place.
The original Black Ops game, developed by Treyarch, took place during the Cold War in the 1960’s. Subsequent games have moved into the future with Black Ops II happening in the year 2025 and the recent Black Ops III taking place in 2065.
Treyarch will be developing this new game as well and there is an announcement trailer that reveals a Community Reveal Event for May 17, 2018 with the games global launch set for October 12, 2018. The Reveal Event will reportedly give more details about the plot and gameplay. This will be the third title in the Call of Duty franchise to be released in October.
