The Rundown: Slade discovers more about his father and the power he needs to survive the yard.

Slade fights for his life in the pits of Beetle Country as his reluctant allies for their own. As he begins to succumb to the mosquito attack, Sister Wysta helps him trigger a memory of his father. A memory that will hold the key to unlocking the amulet fused to his chest. With renewed power, Slade fights back and topples the arena. An act that will remind the beetles of who his father is and what he meant to their realm.
As Slade looks for a means of escape, Wysta and General Augustfall return to their people and make plans for what to do with Slade and his power. As he learns more about his father, one of them finds him and prepares to take him to her leaders to remove the amulet. A move that could potentially kill Slade as his mother and brother take to the backyard to find him.
The Story: Aaron continues to craft an entertaining story filled with intrigue and action. The story continues to be more interesting with every reveal and secret at the heart of this story. I found myself immersed in this story and the characters. I love learning about the different factions within this world and how they connect to Slade and his story. It’s going to be interesting to see how this story grows and evolves going forward.
The Art: Asrar delivers powerfully interesting and beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. From the character designs to the environments, everything looks fantastic.
