The Rundown: Slade’s backyard adventure will bring him face to face with some possible allies.

Slade Slaymaker finds himself surrounded by bug like humanoids as the last of the power from his amulet leaves him and he returns to full size. As his brothers comes out to look for him, he returns to bug size and immediately passes out. After waking up, he finds himself captured by the bugs and tied to others that will be taken to a gladiatorial arena as one of the bugs seems to know who and what he is.

As he is taken into the arena, Slade finds himself surrounded by mosquitos as he and his potential allies fight for their lives. As he tries to survive, one of the other combatants tells him that they need his help as he learns that the war he finds himself in the middle of is connected to his bug hating brother.

The Story: Aaron crafts an intense, entertaining and thrilling follow up in this issue. There is intense action throughout the story as well as really interesting and engaging world building as the reader sees the world through Slade’s eyes. I like the new characters being introduced in this issue as well and the mystery being unveiled throughout the story has gotten my attention and secured my interest in the next issue.

The Art: Asrar delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the character designs as well as the visual thrills of the action.
