The Rundown: Liam and his friends get one step closer to executing their plan, but personal and governmental complications put that plan in doubt.
Using information from a host of sources, Liam presents part of his plans to his friends. A plan that each of them will play a part in and what all of them will have only a few weeks to prepare for. Unfortunately, mistrust and the arrival of a government agent almost end their plans before they can begin.
With time running out, Liam and his friends suffer the loss of one of their own. A loss that will inspire Liam to give his friends all the facts and put them in a position where they will face off against the robots that have been taking young people in a desperate attempt to infiltrate the ship and free their friends.
The Story: Kaplan crafts an entertaining story with great tension throughout. I love the heist elements of the story and how the character interact with each other. I would have liked to see more of the conflict with the Homeland Security agent presented because I think it would have raised the level of tension, but the story has a great pace, concept and characters. I am invested in the story and interested in seeing where it goes next.
The Art: Santos offers some brilliantly detailed panels throughout the issue. There are great visual moments from the description of the inside of the alien ships to the abduction scene. The art is intense and beautifully captures the mood of the story.
