In order to combat his increasing nightmares, Tim travels to the one place where he thinks he will find the answers he seeks; the Dreaming.
He and his new companion make their way to the world easy enough, but the changes to the realm could be dangerous.
When Tim makes his way to the library, he finds Eve going over the books. After talking to her and getting a new perspective on an old story, he finds himself in the presence of the new lord of the Dreaming. Taking time to talk to the new lord, he decides to stay and learn some more. Unfortunately, his extended stay in the Dreaming could make it difficult for the young wizard to find his way back home.
Back in the real world, Tim’s demonstration of magic has caught the attention of the school librarian. When he entreats the school bully to get Tim to do it again, a new threat reveals itself. Unfortunately, its first target isn’t Tim Hunter, but someone he cares about.
I was blown away by the story Kat Howard is telling in this issue. Beyond the fact that Tim’s story is taking more interesting and unknown roads, she puts a new spin on a classic tale. A spin that will make the reader think about perspective. Thought-provoking and infinitely engaging, this issue connects on many different levels with the reader. I also enjoyed how seamlessly it crosses over into the new story The Dreaming is telling while keeping that plot mysterious. I can’t wait to see where it goes next.
Tom Fowler’s beautiful artwork continues to capture the imagination. I was interested in seeing his interpretation of the Dreaming through the visual style of this book and was not disappointed. Everything looked amazing.
