Things are starting to look up for Tim as he manages to get a night’s sleep thanks to his new owl friend/protector. Even with the spectre of his teacher’s death still hanging over the school, Tim manages to find the ability to study, especially magic.
When he’s tasked to collect some special books from the school library, he runs into the eccentric school librarian and a problem that he tries to solve with magic that ends up putting him in the crosshairs of someone who wants to expose his secrets.
Tim’s journey is taking some unexpected and entertaining twists and turns in this issue. Twists that will expose that there is more than one teacher with a secret in his school and a turn that will take him somewhere that might give him some respite from the nightmares that have consumed his sleep. Kat Howard crafts a story that succeeds in balancing personal pain and the wonder of discovery. There are so many pure and wonderful ideas and moments in this book. It’s setting Tim on a journey that the reader is eager to follow him on.
Tom Fowler continues to deliver quality art in every page. From facial expressions to minor details, there is always something visually to catch your eye.
