The Rundown: Isaac’s mother goes on a hunt to find and rescue her son.
Isaac is taken to the center of the world he and the others are trapped in with Felix preparing him for a final sacrifice to a dangerous and powerful entity. At the same time, the final survivors continue to fall to the dark forces in the building as they get closer to finding the missing boy.
As Felix begins the process of sacrificing the boy, his mother finds herself facing a dangerous enemy who gives her a dark choice.
The Story: Lemire brings this story to a dark and engaging conclusion that is filled with dark thrills and some truly scary moments for the characters. I really enjoyed the buildup of the final moments for the characters and how it doesn’t have a happy ending. It delivers on all of the tragedy of the characters while also setting up some interesting story elements.
The Art: Sorrentino delivers some beautifully detailed and visually engaging art throughout the issue. There are some truly dark visual moments that perfectly capture the tone of the story.
