After Disney acquired Fox and, ushering in the return of their Marvel Comics characters, fans asked what would happen to their favorite “merc with a mouth”. Now it looks like he will officially join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After two successful and non-family-friendly big screen outings, fans wondered if the House of Mouse would rein in Deadpool for a larger audience or would they allow the mutant mercenary to run free. According to Deadline, Marvel Studios, Disney and Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds are getting set to answer some of those questions.
According to Deadline, a third Deadpool film is in the works after Reynolds and others met with the Molyneaux sisters and liked their pitch. Wendy Molyneaux and Lizzie Molyneaux-Loeglin are a writing duo best known for their Emmy Award winning work as writers and executive producers of the hit animated series Bob’s Burgers. The sisters will also serve as creators, showrunners and writers of the upcoming Fox series The Great North.
Ryan Reynold’s next film ‘Free Guy’ is scheduled to be released in theaters December and he recently finished filming the action film Red Notice with Gal Gadot and The Rock.
