Scott Cawthorn’s popular video game Five Nights at Freddy’s is coming to the big screen thanks to Blumhouse and now the studio has found its director.
According to Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, Emma Tammi has been tapped to direct the Five Nights at Freddy’s film. Tammi made her feature film directorial debut with the 2018 horror Western “The Wind” and followed it up with two episodes of Into the Dark.
The game follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at the family friendly Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza joint. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.
Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is working on the animatronic nightmare creatures featured in the game and principal photography is set to begin in early 2023.
