The Rundown: Rip Hunter makes an appearance as Booster Gold and Blue Beetle find themselves in mortal danger.
In 1962, Rip Hunter bears witness to musical powerhouse and introduces the reader to his parentage. In the present, Terri assists Booster Gold and Blue Beetle with a bevy of new clients for the Blue & Gold Restoration company. In the midst of the fray, Omnizon makes her presence known and forces Booster and Blue Beetle into a deadly battle. Soon, the duo is assisted by the Time Master. After an unexpected occurrence, Rip and Trixie have a conversation. Elsewhere, Booster and Blue Beetle find themselves in an unusual predicament.
The Story: This chapter provides an interesting take on colonialism. I also find it interesting how Blue Beetle is so open to the idea that Omnizon and Lord Kif’n make a relatively valid point in their way of thinking. I always enjoy how the two heroes have such vastly different points of view. I am also intrigued by the appearance of the Rip Hunter and can’t wait to find out how his interactions with Booster Gold will be handled. I’m looking forward to the next chapter.
The Art: This colorful issue uses modern comic book design. The drawings are detailed and expressive. And there is an energy to the artwork that matches the personalities of Booster and Blue Beetle.
