The Rundown: A wildlife photography captures a murder in a dangerous ice covered environment.
Brynne Brautigan is a nature photographer on assignment in Canada. In her remote base location, she finds that there is little to see in the snow covered environment.
When she discovers a pair of mountain climbers in the area, she decides to follow and shoot them as a means of passing the time. When one of her shoots shows one of the climbers being murdered by the other, she goes off to investigate not know that she is also being watched.
The Story: Thompson delivers some interesting and engaging moments throughout the first issue. The issue creates an interesting story that immediately grabbed my attention and a premise that works really well considering the setting. There is some great tension throughout the story and the mystery at the center of it intrigues me.
The Art: Izzo does a wonderful job of capturing the isolation and dark tone of the setting with amazing art that makes you feel like you’re in the harsh environment with the characters.
