The Rundown: Apogee has been turning people into monsters and to face off against Natasha, he will take a dose of his own medicine.
Back at Natasha’s base, Craig finally comes up with an antidote for Apogee’s drug and Lucy is ready to jump in to help distribute it. Unfortunately, using her powers could kill her. Undeterred, Lucy decides the best thing she can do to atone for her role in Apogee’s operation is to help Black Widow and Yelena.
Natasha and company have their hands full taking on a super powered Apogee who is going crazy with his new enhancements. As his followers attack, Natasha tries to show the madman what his serum is doing to them. As Apogee tries to escape, Natasha and company are outnumbered until some unexpected backup arrives to lend a hand.
The Story: Thompson brings this arc to a brilliant, fun and exciting conclusion. Not only were there twists and unexpected surprises, but the story was full of so much energy in its pacing and dialogue that it felt like something cinematic was unfolding. All of the character moments worked perfectly and the plot was both action packed and inspiring. A great story that came to a fun, intriguing and entertaining conclusion.
The Art: Casagrande and De Latorre blew me away with the visuals in this issue. Not only are the characters beautifully rendered, but the action and adventure jump off the page and connect with the reader.
