The Marvel Cinematic universe lost one of its rising stars tonight with the announcement that Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman died tonight at the age of 43.
The news was confirmed by the Associated Press that the 43 yer old actor died after a four year battle with colon cancer.

Boseman began his career on the soap opera All My Children and continued on television and film until he got cast in the breakout role of baseball legend Jackie Robinson in the movie 42. He followed that role with another biopic where he played legendary musician James Brown in Get On Up. Boseman took on the role of comic book superhero Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War and continued to play the role in both a solo Black Panther feature, but also in the last two Avengers films Infinity War and Endgame.
Boseman recently played future Supreme Court justice Thurgood Marshall as well as headlining the action thriller 21 Bridges. He most recent role was in Spike Lee’s Vietnam War film Da Five Bloods. He was set to reprise his role as T’Challa aka The Black Panther in both the animated Marvel Studios series What If…? as well as the upcoming Black Panther sequel.
