The box office juggernaut that is Black Panther continued to dominate this weekend after going up against its latest competition at the box office.
According to Box Office Mojo and other sources, Black Panther brought in $27 million dollars this past weekend, making it the seventh film to cross $600 million in North America. Opening that weekend was the big screen reboot of the video game Tomb Raider starring Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander as adventurer Lara Croft.
Black Panther finished this past weekend with a global take of $1.182 billion dollars and is the first movie since the first Avatar film to top the box office charts for 5 consecutive weeks. This leaves some definite high hopes for the sequel and many fans of the film are eagerly awaiting a return to Wakanda and many of those characters including T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Shuri (Letitia Wright) and Okoye (Danai Gurira) in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War coming next month.
