Deron GenerallyDeadpool director Tim Miller is taking on the Terminator franchise with James Cameron producing culminating in the return of Linda Hamilton to the fold.
Now there is news that actress Mackenzie Davis will be joining the new Terminator franchise for the new trilogy of films. Davis is known for ber roles in films like The Martian and television series like Halt and Catch Fire and her role on the Emmy winning episode San Junipero from the Netflix series Black Mirror. Davis’ role is unclear, but she will be one of the leads of the film.
According to Variety and others, the new Terminator trilogy will take place directly after the events of Terminator 2: Judgement Day. This would effectively wipe Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator: Salvation and Terminator Genisys from the canon of the Terminator franchise. Cameron will regain the rights to the Terminator franchise in 2019 and has brought back both Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger to the fold for his new trilogy which is slated to be released July 26, 2019.
