The Rundown: The Sangerye family returns to deal with another supernatural threat.

It’s 1964 and a busload of freedom riders is making their way through the Deep South into Mississippi when their bus is stopped and attacked by monsters. Back in Harlem, the remaining and new members of the Sangerye family find themselves dealing with a new jinoo attack and meeting with resistance from the bureau who doesn’t believe the monsters still roam the world.

Two FBI agents make their way to the crime scene and one believes that it is the work of the monsters the family fought years ago. He also discovers that three of the passengers are missing when Meriah and Enoch arrive on the scene to confirm their suspicions. Unfortunately, there are others in the woods who have already confirmed the attack, but are taking a different approach to stopping it.

The Story: Walker and Brown bring readers back to this world with a fantastic story set in a time that perfectly captures the world on the cusp of change and the dangers inherent with that change. The story is thrilling, engaging and filled with great characters. I love returning to this world and this first issue has everything that I am looking for in an adventure. I cannot wait to dive back into this world and these characters.

The Art: Greene delivers beautifully stylish and detailed art throughout the issue. I love the updated look of the characters as well as the retro look of the technology.
